Illustration
Digital illustration was my first passion and my reason for getting into design. With over 13 years of experience illustrating for clients in just about every sector, I pride myself on pixel-perfect images that enhance the messaging they’re paired with.
Ghost in the Shell
Agency: N/A | Client: N/A | Role: Illustrator
My first foray into digital painting within Procreate, I did this piece out of sheer hype for the release of Ghost in the Shell.
My background is mainly in vector illustration, so trying out digital painting for the first time was a challenge but I’m very pleased with the result.
ALA Banned Books Video
Agency: Cubicle Ninjas | Client: American Library Association | Role: Illustrator/Art Director
For the second year in a row, we were approached by the American Library Association to put together a motion graphic video celebrating literature and shedding light on books that were challenged during the previous calendar year.
This was my first time experimenting with texture within a traditionally clean illustration. Ultimately, the client ended up picking a colleague of mine’s direction, but this project still stands out in my mind as an instance of me pushing myself out of my comfort zone to achieve a unique style.
Amex Portraits
Agency: Cubicle Ninjas | Client: American Express | Role: Illustrator/Art Director
American Express approached us to illustrate portraits of their team members to be included on their intranet portal.
Based on client-provided imagery, I came up with a style that could be easily replicated by other members of my team. Using a consistent container and treatment ensured that the set felt like a custom collection of avatars.
Facebook Report
Agency: Cubicle Ninjas | Client: N/A | Role: Illustrator/Art Director
A client of ours was working on pitching an RFP to Facebook and wanted an illustrated cover that utilized their signature blue along with a theme of togetherness.
I explored the theme of a campfire, utilizing hard silhouettes and vector shapes alongside texture to give the cover an overall tactile feel.
SIGGRAPH 2020
Agency: Cubicle Ninjas | Client: ACM SIGGRAPH | Role: Illustrator/Art Director
A part of the initial theme pitch, I illustrated a poster for the SIGGRAPH annual conference. The theme was centered around a midcentury-modern look and feel.
It was both challenging and fun to worth through building out an illustration of the convention center where the conference was going to be held in perspective.
Ultimately, the client went with a different poster design within the theme, but this is one of my favorite illustrations to date.
