Justin Runs on Dunkin’

For Chicago sports fans in 2023, you’d be hard-pressed to name a more iconic athlete than Chicago Bears star quarterback, Justin Fields.

For Dunkin’, there was no better choice for a local brand ambassador.

The Approach

Despite having JF1 himself as the ambassador, the coffee had to be the star of the show. I developed moodboards that featured poses, lighting, angles, and post-processing style to make sure we were capturing the brand’s vision. I worked closely with our photographer to make sure that vision came to life.

When it came to shoot day, I worked alongside a talented food stylist, photographer, and production assistants to create the hero shots for the campaign. We shot photos in both landscape and portrait orientations so we could ensure that the coffee and Justin would look their best from out-of-home to social and everything in-between.

The :30 SPOT

We all know that America Runs on Dunkin’, but it turns out Justin Fields actually runs ON Dunkin’. In a marketing first, we put the quarterback on the roof of a Dunkin to show off his morning training routine. Stay tuned after the offer for a fun interaction between Justin and another member of our team.

Conclusion

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity AND my very first TV ad shoot, this was one for the books. The commercial ended up being nominated for an Emmy and the campaign was a huge success, boosting iced coffee sales and increasing brand recognition in the Chicagoland area.
